Architect Pierluigi Serraino: Berkeley’s Creative Architect Study

As a practicing architect, author, and educator in the Bay Area, he has lectured on architectural photography, digital design, and California Modernism at numerous universities, institutions, and museums, and in 2013 was the co-recipient with Karla Britton of the Graham Foundation grant on the architectural photography of Robert Damora. His writings and projects have appeared in the publications Architectural Record, Artforum, Architectural Design, and The Architect’s Newspaper among others. He is the author of several books, including Modernism Rediscovered (2000), now in its 3rd printing, and NorCalMod: Icons of Northern California Modernism (2006). His upcoming projects include a history of California architectural modernism, coauthored with Alan Hess and a comprehensive anthology of architectural photographer Marvin Rand, coauthored with Emily Bills and Sam Lubell, both to be released in 2018.”
