Senior Resources Episcopal Senior Communities has financially supported Senior Resources for over 25 years. Housed at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Oakland, (across the street from ESC’s Life Care community, St. Paul’s Towers), Senior Resources provides resource information and refers seniors and their families to existing city and county services. The program also has the capacity to grant emergency funds to seniors who find themselves in dire circumstances. One hundred percent of financial contributions to the emergency fund are disbursed to needy seniors. Senior Resources holds a weekly Senior Produce Market, which served as the model and inspiration for ESC’s other produce markets. Called the St. Paul’s Food Co-op, it celebrated its 25th anniversary in the summer of 2006. In the spring of 2007, ESC plans to extend the Senior Resources program to Monterey, San Francisco, and Sonoma Counties. In addition to providing information and referrals to available programs, Senior Resources will serve as an important link to Episcopal parishes and support their outreach to elders.
