Job Title:  Staff Accountant, Lytton Gardens Senior Communities

DESCRIPTION OF THE ORGANIZATION

Lytton Gardens is a senior community providing a continuum of care to 550 residents for the mid-Peninsula. The mission of Lytton Gardens is to provide affordable housing and supportive services to lower income seniors and quality nursing care to individuals of all income levels in an environment which creates the opportunity to live with dignity and independence. Established as a California not-for-profit corporation in 1975, Lytton Gardens has enjoyed a reputation as a national model of multi-level support for seniors since it opened. Lytton Gardens includes a skilled nursing facility (SNF) providing a spectrum of services from sub-acute to long-term care and on-site rehabilitative services for Medicare, Medi-Cal and private pay patients. The facility is currently licensed for 145 beds. Additionally, there are 270 apartments available for independent living seniors and 50 assisted living accommodations for those who need non-medical help for activities of daily living. Nearby, Lytton Courtyard provides an additional 50 units of affordable housing for low-income independent living seniors. The organization anticipates expanding its programs and services to serve more seniors in order to meet the community’s growing need.

The facility is located in downtown Palo Alto about 20 miles north of San Jose and 30 miles south of San Francisco, in close proximity to Stanford University, local shopping, restaurants and entertainment districts. The facilities are bright, modern and arranged in a very home-like setting. The California architecture is pleasant and makes good use of the enjoyable outdoor climate and attractive garden environment of the Palo Alto area. Since 1975, Lytton Gardens has earned a reputation for innovative and high quality senior living, skilled nursing care and rehabilitative services. Lytton Gardens intends to play a more aggressive role in pursuing the development and acquisition of new facilities in the Bay Area.

Lytton Gardens recently entered into an affiliation with Episcopal Senior Communities and is taking over management responsibility of three affordable housing projects in Oakland, San Francisco and Santa Rosa.
