Job Title: Waitperson, Los Gatos MeadowsPart Time food for PM shift with hours primarily 4-8pm, some weekends.Prefer experience, but will train. DEPT: DIETARY REPORTS TO: MORNING DINING ROOM MANAGER OVERVIEW: ACCORDING TO STANDARD, AND UNDER MODERATE SUPERVISION SERVES THE RESIDENT IN A COURTEOUS, ACCURATE, AND TIMELY MANNER. THE MEAL MAY BE EITHER A SIT-DOWN OR BUFFET SERVICE. THIS POSITION BE IN FULLY COMPLIANCE WITH HIPAA.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: BE IN HIGH SCHOOL OR HAVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT PREFERRED. MUST BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND ENGLISH AND WITHIN A MONTH BE ABLE TO READ AND SPEAK ENGLISH MODERATELY. HE APPLICANT SHOULD HAVE THE ABILITY TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS AND THE FLEXIBILITY IN ACCOMMODATING VARIED WORKLOADS. ABILITY TO WORK WELL WITH OTHERS AND AS A TEAM PLAYER. BILITY TO INSTRUCT NEW EMPLOYEES. ABILITY TO READ AND SPEAK ENGLISH IF A WAITPERSON. ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE CLEARLY. APTITUDE FOR DOING SIMPLE MATH. ABILITY TO PERFORM ROUTINE REPETITIVE TASKS WITH MINIMAL SUPERVISION. COMMITMENT TO PERFORMING WITH HIGH STANDARDS. MAINTAIN A CLEAN APPEARANCE. MUST HAVE A HAIRNET ON AT ALL TIMES.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: WORK IS MODERATE LIGHT, CAN INVOLVE LIFTING OF OBJECTS WEIGHING UP TO FIFTEEN (15) POUNDS. OCCASIONAL LIFTING OF FOOD SUPPLIES WEIGHING UP TO TWENTY-FIVE (25) POUNDS. CONSIDERABLE WALKING, BENDING, REACHING, TWISTING, AND CROUCHING. EXPOSED TO HEAT, HUMIDITY, STEAM, COOKING ODORS, REFRIGERATOR AND FREEZER TEMPERATURES, AND WET FLOORS.
ESSENTIAL DUTEIS AND RESPOSIBILITIES: (May perform some or all of the following tasks) BEGINS THE BEFORE SIDEWORK. IF WORKING ON TRAYLINE BE AS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE. IF THE MEAL IS A SIT-DOWN, THE WAITPERSON TAKES THE ORDER AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SERVING THE APPETIZERS, BEVERAGES, AND DESSERTS. THE ENTRÉE TICKET IS TURNED INTO THE KITCHEN. THE RUNNER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR BRINGING OUT THE ENTREES WHEN THEY ARE PREPARED BY THE COOKS. IN BOTH SIT-DOWN AND BUFFET, ALL SERVING PERSONAL SHOULD BE COURTEOUS, ACCURATE, AND EXPEDIENT. CLEAR DISHES OFF THE TABLES. HELP RESTOCK BUFFET AREA POUR COFFEE FREQUENTLY. IF THE MEAL IS A BUFFET, THE SERVERS NEED TO FOLLOW THE POSITIONS ANALYSIS FOR THAT PARTICULAR BUFFET. RESET TABLES. DO THE JUICES AND FRUITS FOR THE NEXT DAY IF ASSIGNED. BEGIN THE AFTER SIDEWORK. COVER, LABELS, AND DATES ALL LEFTOVERS. COMPLETES ALL DUTIES IN A TIMELY MANNER. MAINTAIN CLEANLINESS IN WORKSTATIONS. FOLLOW INFECTION CONTROL. KEEPS SAFETY IN MIND FOR THEIRSELF AND OTHER EMPLOYEES WHEN WORKING IN THE KITCHEN AND DINING ROOM. ATTENDS AND PARTICIPATES IN EDUCATIONAL TRAINING SESSIONS AND DEPARTMENT MEETINGS AS REQUESTED. FILL IN WHERE EVER NECESSARY WHEN OTHER STAFF MEMBERS CALL IN SICK, OR ARE ON VACATION OR A LEAVE OF ABSENCE. PERFORM ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
