Located in downtown Oakland and surrounded by trees and gardens, Oak Center Towers is place where individuals thrive and friendships flourish, where every day brings new opportunities to learn and interact, to relax and enjoy your life here among people who care.
Episcopal Senior Communities opened Oak Center Towers, an eleven-story residence for very low-income seniors (62 and older) with the goal of bringing people together in a caring, comfortable, and invigorating environment.
A superb staff, including a resident manager, activities director and service coordinator, ensure independence and a full life for all Oak Center Towers residents by helping you to connect residents to resources in the larger community. At home, you can enjoy the use of a library, a lounge, a TV room, a computer center and an ever-popular game and poolroom. Oak Center Towers also has a reception area, lounges, hobby and craft areas and a laundry room. The lighted grounds and parking areas are easily accessible and the entire facility is fenced and protected by 24-hour security.
Life at Oak Center Towers provides opportunities for:
- Van transportation for weekly shopping trips, sporting events and other community outings
- Arts, crafts and educational activities
- An evening meal program
- Service coordination
In keeping with the Oak Center Towers’ mission to serve seniors with very low incomes or disabilities, we require candidates for residency to meet certain qualifications. To qualify for residency, an applicant’s annual income cannot exceed 50% of the local area median. Preference is given to very low-income applicants. Once approved and moved in, residents pay no more than 30% of their monthly income toward the monthly rental charge for the living unit.
