ESC’s Senior Resources program is the foundation of its community services efforts. Currently, ESC supports Directors in Alameda, San Francisco, Monterey, Sonoma and Contra Costa counties with plans to expand into Santa Clara and Marin next fiscal year. Senior Resources has three key components:

ElderWISE is ESC's new friendly visitor program, currently serving Monterey, San Francisco, and Alameda Counties. ElderWISE links volunteers with seniors who are homebound, lonely, or seeking the benefits from a home visit or help with errands, such as picking up prescriptions or groceries. Seemingly simple tasks may be daunting for an elder who is frail, lacks transportation, or is fearful about leaving the house. Trained in interpersonal and listening skills, our volunteers begin by visiting a minimum twice per month. Senior Resources staff supports the volunteers with monthly updates and training.
