About San Francisco Towers

San Francisco Towers has provided a vibrant lifestyle in this city since 1998. In addition to being an integral part of the Pacific Heights neighborhood, San Francisco Towers is the flagship community of Episcopal Senior Communities (ESC), a more than 50 year old, California nonprofit public benefit corporation that is tax exempt under Section 501 (c) (3) of the IRS code.

  • ESC’s primary focus is to own and operate Life Plan Communities, also known as CCRCs. Currently the organization sponsors six communities located in Pacific Grove, Oakland, Los Gatos, Palo Alto, Santa Rosa and San Francisco. You can find our provider report from the Department of Social Services here.
  • In keeping with its charitable purpose, the organization also provides no cost to low cost services to seniors in need within a seven county area, including but not limited to the counties where ESC has Life Plan Communities. In addition, its Senior Center without Walls program provides telephone reassurance through a conference call program to elders living throughout California.

Episcopal Senior Communities cultivates and builds healthy communities with a continuum of residential and innovative aging services that actively promote intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual well-being.

Episcopal Senior Communities will be widely known for providing gracious, exceptional service and fiscal stewardship.

Guiding Principles

HONOR the heritage of the organization—its historical ties to the Episcopal Church and its mission to serve all elderly as a nonprofit provider of services and housing.

RESPECT one another as members of the community, whether resident or staff, striving to be collaborative and to treat one another with dignity.

EMBRACE the unique characteristics of the individual while building and supporting the needs of each community, and being dedicated to expanding the diversity of those who live and work within the ESC family.

SERVE with integrity, ethically conducting the business and management of the organization so that it meets current needs as well as plans for the future.

GROW community programs and housing prudently in order to serve seniors of a wide range of financial means.

BUILD the resources and financial capacity of ESC and ESC Foundation, acting as good stewards to assure the organization’s present and future ability to satisfy its constituents and achieve its mission.

"The great thing about our community is that we attract people who want to live a stimulating life. I’ve been so surprised to find this phase of life to be happier day by day—I expect to enjoy the loving kindness I have seen between former strangers who have become a second family."
